I have published a book, which is a summary of our trip, titled 2018 Rhine River Cruise. Please be patient, as this takes a few moments to load. If you would like to purchase a copy, you can find it here on Blurb.com.
Presented below is a photo journey of our trip on the Rhine River from Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Basel, Switzerland.
It all started on August 28, 2018, with a flight from New York’s JFK airport directly to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. The cruise didn’t begin until the 31st, so we had planned to enjoy two days touring the city. Well, the 28th and 29th became one day of travel, leaving us feeling like zombies due to lack of sleep.
On the 30th, we finally ventured out and got to tour a bit, visiting the Van Gogh Museum and taking a city canal cruise. On the 31st, we boarded the ship, and sometime during that night we left for our first port of call, Kinderdijk, Holland.
Below you can see links to all of our pictures taken during our seven-day journey, day by day. Enjoy your tour. We certainly did! (Note: Out-of-focus images have been included to help you get the feel for our journey.)
Taking a taxi to the EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg Airport in Basel, Switzerland, we began a whirlwind trip back to JFK in New York. Unfortunately, we were not able to see anything of Basel or Paris, France. After these long international flights, we are going to consider business or first-class travel next time. And there is going to be a next time.
